Sanuk progressed to the next round of the Bierkeller Divisional Cup at the expense of Division One strugglers and ground sharers Highfield Social at a very windy and rain sodden Collins Park.
Sanuk had the wind in the first half and Antony Pearson opened the scoring converting Will Watt's excellent cross. Paul Dickinson then scored a superb goal, chipping in from the wide left from 25 yards. Further strikes from Clarky and skipper Phil Thompson made it 4-0 at the break.
Sanuk continued the rampage in the second half with further goals from Jordan Spedding (2), Michael Clark, Phil Thompson and Antony Pearson completing the rout. Highfield Social gained a consolation as an attempted cross caught the wind and flew over Smithy's head.
Referee John Hay who once more excelled in the middle, mercifully blew up early to allow the players to defrost tin the hot showers.
In summary, not a day for the faint hearted, driving wind, hail and rain making conditions for football difficult to say the least.
Sanuk did manage to get the ball down and play some good stuff in parts, mainly down to the excellent trio of Pearson, Clark and Butler who controlled matters in midfield, coupled with Phil Thompson's excellent all round display - particularly considering party animals Tommo and Butler had been out till 7am. But, at least they turned up, so every credit to them.
