Quilligans entertained FC Loco at on a nice pleasant evening at Collins Park, gone was the weekend wind and rain, and the conditions were ideal for football.
Quilligans attacking the Common Edge Road end in the first half had the lions share of possession, and played some neat and tidy football with midfielder Michael Clark at the hub of most of Quilligans best work.
Jordan Spedding coming the closest to scoring when his header crashed against the FC Loco bar. However a Quilligans set routine from a corner that worked so well last Sunday, was once more effective as Clark's flighted corner from the right was nodded home by Micky Evans.
Shortly after a long range strike from Michael Clark eluded FC Loco keeper Goldberg's outstretched arms and nestled in the bottom right hand corner, 2-0 to Quilligans at the break.
Quilligans were shocked early in the second half after a back pass to Smith was charged down and unfortunately landed in a FC Loco players path, who then guided the ball in the net, 2-1.
Quilligans re-asserted themselves after that. Michael Clark crashed a shot against the underside of the bar and Jordan Spedding brought out a fine save from Goldberg as Quilligans built up the pressure on the FC Loco defence.
Quilligans restored parity when Spedding's superb through ball found Grant Dell racing clear, and he slotted the ball past Goldberg to seal a 3-1 win for Quilligans.
Overall a much improved performance from the team compared to last Sunday. Every player worked hard against a strong FC Loco outfit. Paul Roberts on his seasonal debut was superb in defence, and Michael Clark and Jordan Spedding were creative in midfield, ably backed by the hard graft of Mark Butler which gave the team a platform to work from.
