Quilligans hammered promoted side Christ the King at Collins Park today.
Kings had a mountain to climb after a crazy first five minutes. They conceded two goals from Ben Waddington and Jordan Spedding and had a player dismissed, who went on to assault the referee - sheer madness.
Quilligans were probably as dumbstruck as everyone else, and the rest of the half was a non-event and the score was still 2-0 at the break.
Quilligans came out hungrier after the break to pile on the pressure, and two further goals from Waddington who completed his hat trick, and a brace from Gaz Moore completed the scoring.
Overall not the sort of events that does anything for Sunday football. The Christ the King player totally losing the plot. The referee did well to keep his composure and not abandon the game.
The result sends Quilligans eleven points clear at the top of the table and maintains our 100% record so far this season, although to be fair, a few teams have games in hand and that gap will be narrowed.
