Visitng Highfield Social were demolished 16-0 by Quilligans at Collins Park today, their highest ever score in the BFSFA, surpassing the 15-0 pasting handed out to Autoweld last season.

Within 3 minutes Quilligans were one up when Rowe found himself unmarked in the Highfield area to slot home. Palmer nearly made it two with a 25 yard drive which flew just wide.

On 10 minutes it was 2-0. Good work by the youngster Douthwaite meant he found Catlow lurking in the area, and after several attempts to beat the keeper, Sugden got hold of the ball, slipped his man with some nifty footwork and slotted home into the bottom corner.

Catlow them pounced on a fine square ball from Rowe across the Highfield area and slid it home to make it 3-0.

A minute later it was 4-0. Douthwaite beat the Highfield offside trap, and squared across the area for Sugden and Catlow. They had a brief discussion as to who was going to score - Catlow decided it was his turn, and knocked it in to the back of the net.

Rowe finally got in on the act with a trademark finish to make it 5-0. Within a couple of minutes of that Sugden rounded off his hatrick blasting home to make it 6-0.

Quilligans weren't finished yet, Catlow blasted home again to complete his hatrick, then on the half hour Sugden got his fourth rifling past the bewildered Highfield keeper as he picked the ball out the net for the eighth time.

Two minutes later Douthwaite again turned provider as he fired a ball across the Highfield box, that Sugden managed to get a deft flick on, and find the bottom corner to complete his double hatrick - his second hatrick coming in just over 3 minutes.

Shortly after it was double figures. Douthwaite was involved yet again, his effort forcing a smart save from the Highfield keeper, however, Sugden was lurking to pick up the pieces.

Half-time 10-0.

The second half began with a superb goal saving tackle from the Highfield centre half, however within in a couple of minutes it was 11-0. Sugden again the goalscorer with another deft flick over the keeper.

Catlow should have made it 12-0, but the keeper made a tremendous save from point blank range. it wasn't long before it was 12-0 though, when Rowe beat several defenders to fire home.

Douthwaite then picked Catlow out with a superb cross, his bullet header making it 13-0. Rowe then forced a smart save from the Highfield keeper. On the hour Boal made it 14-0, sidefooting it home from distance after Rowe had been denied once again by a another great save from the Highfield keeper.

Sugden got his eight of the game when Catlow played his fellow striking partner in, and just before the final whistle Rowe completed the demolition, chipping the onrushing keeper superbly.
